North South University celebrates Pohela Boishakh

North South University, the number one ranked private university of Bangladesh, celebrated ‘Pohela Boishakh 1429’, the first day of Bangla Calendar by organizing various colorful activities.




The university campus was decorated with an attractive look to welcome Pohela Boishakh. NSU welcomed the New Year in a festive mode. The students shared happiness with the teachers and classmates by dancing and singing themselves.

The daylong event started with a colorful Mongol Shobhajatra and proceeded with Stick Game, Baul Song, Puppet Dance, Folk Music, Traditional Dance Performances, Stalls, Jaatrapala, etc organized by North South University ShangskritikShangathan (NSUSS).

Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU was present as the Chief Guest. Aziz AI Kaiser, Member, Board of Trustees, NSU was present as the Special Guest. Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU presided over the program.

Azim Uddin Ahmed said, “I am happy that we have been able to celebrate the festival of the life of Bengalis, Pahela Baishakh with joy, exhilaration and excitement. North South University has always celebrated all kinds of Bengali festivals in a festive atmosphere under the patronage of Bengali culture.” 
Prof Atiqul Islam said, “An identity that we have as Bengalis, Bengali culture, Bengali language, everything is revealed by Pohela Boishakh. I like ‘Pohela Boishakh’ because we all celebrate this festival together. I would like to thank the NSU authorities for introducing Baishakhi allowance for all our officers, staff and teachers from this year.”
