The Department of Architecture at North South University (NSU) upheld its cherished tradition with a grand celebration, seamlessly blending heritage and modernity to welcome new students while bidding farewell to graduating ones.
This semester’s event combined the Fresher’s Welcome and Graduation Farewell under the theme of Bangaliana, drawing inspiration from Dhaka’s iconic rickshaw art. The Sky Gallery was transformed into a dynamic display of color and light, reflecting the city’s cultural heritage vibrancy. The carefully curated palette—bold, intricate hues reminiscent of traditional rickshaw motifs—symbolized the department’s deep-rooted artistic and architectural legacy.
Students, faculty, and staff gathered in a festive atmosphere, where the excitement of new beginnings intertwined with the nostalgia of parting farewells. The event featured various performances, including music, dance, and interactive activities, allowing students to engage beyond academics and celebrate their creativity.
“The Department of Architecture is more than just an academic institution—it is a close-knit community that nurtures talent, fosters collaboration, and celebrates tradition,” said Ar. Shahriar Iqbal Raj, Chair of the Department of Architecture at NSU. “This event exemplifies our commitment to creating a dynamic and supportive environment for our students.”
The farewell segment honored the achievements of graduating students, acknowledging their contributions and preparing them for the next phase of their journeys. The combined celebration underscored the cyclical nature of academic life, reinforcing the lasting bonds within the department.
The NSU Department of Architecture remains committed to fostering innovation, creativity, and a strong sense of community. The Fresher’s Welcome & Graduation Farewell 2025 was a testament to this mission, offering students a platform to celebrate their past, embrace their present, and look forward to a promising future.
