North South University (NSU) recently celebrated its largest-ever convocation—the 25th Convocation—with more than 100 students graduating from the Department of Architecture with Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degrees. To mark this milestone, the department organized a unique program titled “Meet the Graduate: Future Path” on December 11th at the NSU campus.
The event, hosted by the Department Chair, Ar. Shahriar Iqbal Raj provided a platform for graduates to express gratitude to the department’s office staff and other behind-the-scenes personnel who contributed to their academic journey. The interactive program focused on professional growth, career opportunities, and alumni engagement.
During the session, Ar. Shahriar Iqbal Raj emphasized the importance of joining the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) and elaborated on its significance for aspiring architects. Graduates also expressed interest in pursuing higher education and discussed potential support from the department.
The Chair highlighted various international opportunities, including higher education scopes and recent departmental collaborations with universities in Australia and Japan. Additionally, he announced the launch of a new postal attestation service, which will enable graduates to have their documents attested without visiting the campus, saving time and resources.
The program also served as a platform to discuss the formation of an alumni body. Graduates proposed initiating alumni activities, and the Chair assured them that the department would take steps to facilitate this initiative, with plans for an inclusive alumni meeting shortly.
The event concluded warmly, with graduates presenting a beautifully crafted candle as a token of appreciation, adding a meaningful touch to the gathering. The program was well-received by attendees and highlighted the department’s commitment to supporting its graduates beyond their academic life.
