NSU signs MoU with BATB

North South University (NSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, witnessed by the Career and Placement Center (CPC).

This partnership aims to provide NSU students with opportunities for skill development, practical work experience, and career advancement through BATB’s talent programs, internships, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. The agreement was signed by NSU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, and BATB’s Area Head of Legal, Mr. Sudesh Peter, as well as the Area Head of Talent, Culture & Inclusion, Savera Mizan, during a ceremony held on campus. This collaboration demonstrates a mutual commitment to developing top talent, conducting joint capacity-building activities, and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices. The MoU represents a significant milestone in fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and career readiness, ensuring benefits for both parties.

BATB will provide substantial benefits to NSU through merit-based opportunities in talent programs, such as road shows and seminars each semester. The company aims to enhance student development by offering practical work experiences, feedback, and completion certificates. Additionally, it will actively participate in NSU events, including workshops, career fairs, and training sessions. BATB will also facilitate internships with honorariums in accordance with its policy and deliver guest lectures that integrate theory with practice. Furthermore, BATB will cover campus engagement costs, including promotional materials, with administrative support from the CPC.

This partnership highlights NSU’s commitment to offering transformative learning opportunities and fostering impactful collaborations with prominent global organizations.
