NSU hosts seminar on Marketing Database & AI Tools

The Digital Environment Committee of the Department of Marketing & International Business at North South University (NSU) organized a skill development seminar on “Introducing Marketing Database & AI Tools” on February 12, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at AUDI 801, North South University. Designed for both students and faculty, the event focused on utilizing marketing databases, such as Statista, and AI tools for market research, industry analysis, competitive benchmarking, consumer behavior studies, and trend forecasting.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Khandker Md Nahin Mamun, Assistant Professor & Chair of the Department of Marketing & International Business, alongside Dr. Md. Tamhid Ul Islam, Assistant Professor of the same department. Their expertise and insights provided valuable knowledge on utilizing marketing database and AI tools to develop strategic decision-making and optimize marketing efforts.

Dr. Tamhid, in his opening remarks emphasized that data has become essential in today’s world. He introduced “Statista”, a German-based online platform, that compiles vast amounts of data and statistics, enabling students to access reliable data, market insights, and visualized statistics for research, assignments, and industry analysis. He shared insights on effectively using secondary data on Statista.

To complement this knowledge, Dr. Mamun shared insights on multiple AI tools that would help in marketing research by offering built-in prompts and creating realistic creative ad materials for well-thought branding. Demonstrating platforms such as Jeda AI, Avidnote.com, ChatGPT, and KLING AI, he highlighted their effectiveness in streamlining research, improving content creation, and optimizing marketing strategies.

This event equipped attendees with a comprehensive understanding of modern marketing analytics, enabling them to stay ahead in an increasingly data-driven business landscape. Dr. Mamun concluded the seminar with an engaging Q&A session, allowing participants to clarify their queries. He also expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their time and active participation.
