Over 2.37cr doses Covid-19 jabs administered in Rangpur

A total of two crore 37 lakh 94 thousand and 754 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered till Tuesday in Rangpur division where the pandemic situation continues improving in recent times.

Health officials said the Covid-19 vaccination campaign continues smoothly through inoculation of eligible citizens with the first, second and third doses of Covid-19 jabs in all eight districts of the division.

Citizens are being vaccinated with five types of Covid-19 jabs from different companies like Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinovac across the division.

However, inoculation of citizens with Moderna Covid-19 vaccines is currently not continuing due to shortage of the jabs.

“Till Tuesday, a total of 1,33,59,586 people got the first dose of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 97,72,367 got the second dose and 6,62,801 got the booster dose,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told BSS Wednesday.

The first dose recipient 1,33,59,586 citizens include 39,30,956 vaccinated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 19,76,817 with Pfizer Covid-19 jabs, 52,23,246 people with Sinopharm Covid-19 jabs, 1,31,876 with Moderna Covid-19 jabs and 20,96,691 with Sinovac Covid-19 jabs.

The second dose recipient 97,72,367 citizens include 28,71,900 people inoculated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 16,28,026 with Pfizer Covid-19 jabs, 49,76,008 with Sinopharm Covid-19 jabs, 1,27,554 with Moderna Covid-19 jabs and 1,68,879 with Sinovac Covid-19 jabs.

“The 6,62,801 booster dose recipients include 5,87,984 vaccinated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 71,727 with Pfizer Covid-19 jabs and 3,090 with Moderna Covid-19 jabs,” Dr. Islam added.
