Palak pledges to transform Ctg into Silicon City

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak today said Chattogram will be transformed into a Silicon City.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given three gifts including Sheikh Kamal IT Business Incubator Center, Sheikh Kamal IT Training Center and Incubation and another is Knowledge Park for the development of the information technology sector of Chattogram. When these works will be completed, Chattogram will transform into a Silicon City,” he said.

Junaid Ahmed Palak said these while addressing the opening ceremony of the 5th International Technology Fair organized by Chattogram Chambers and Commerce and Industries (CCCI) at city’s World Trade Center here as chief guest.

The State Minister said IT freelancers in our country should be turned into entrepreneurs through proper training for the development of Bangladesh and to fulfill the Prime Minister’s dream.

“There are many people who are working from villages, upazilas and online marketplaces of the country and abroad through outsourcing. If they can use their experience and skills and turn them into entrepreneurs, there can be employment arrangements for thousands of youth.

If any innovative youth of Chattogram wants to become an entrepreneur, they will need all kinds of services, the present government is ready to provide them all,” he added.

President of the CCCI Omar Hajjaj presided over the function while President of Society of Chattogram IT Professionals Abdullah Farid, S. M. Mohsin and Shipan Kumar among others addressed the function.

The fair will run from 10 am to 8 pm for three days from February 17-19. A total of 64 stalls of 40 companies have been set up their stalls in the fair.
