Ferry Services Resumed After 9.30 Hours Between Aricha- Kazirhat

The ferry services between Aricha – Kazirhat resumed after 9.30 hours suspension for poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river route of the Jamuna, Bangladesh Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat sources said.

BIWTC Deputy General Manager (DGM) Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz said during this long time ferry Begum Sufia Kamal and Shah Ali were at Aricha Ghat, ferry Beer Shreshtha Ruhul Amin was at Kazirhat Ghat and ferry Begum Rokeya was in the middle of the river Jamuna loaded with vehicles and passengers, adding that the ferry movement was suspended from 10.40 pm on Sunday to 8.10 am on Monday for poor visibility due to dense fog.

Meanwhile, ferry movement between Paturiua-Daulatdia river route was suspended for about 4 hours from 3.20 am to 7.00 am today for the dense fog disruption. Five ferries were at Daulatdia, one at Paturia and three were in the middle of the river Padma loaded with vehicles and passengers, BIWTC DGM Shah Mohammad Khaled Newaz said.

During this period all kinds of engine driven and other boats were suspended, the sources said.
