‘Peaceful religious coexistence is a source of strength for country’

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths is a unique feature of Bangladesh that helps its citizens to remain united for the greater interests of the country.

“Bangladesh has been able to secure a prestigious position as a role model of development in the world with its consistent and remarkable economic growth and development performance. The country has immense potential to grow further. Unity of people irrespective of their religious faiths will be a source of strength for Bangladesh to move forward,” he said.

Faruque Hassan made the observations after handing over cheques of donation to two masjids in Gopalganj – Tk. 7 lac to BaburgotiPaschim Para Jame Masjid and Tk. 3 lac to BaitulKarimJame Masjid.

BGMEA Senior Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi), Vice President ShahidullahAzim, Vice President (Finance) KhandokerRafiqul Islam and Vice President Md. NasirUddin were also present on the occasion of cheque handover on October 23, a press release said.

The BGMEA President also handed over 1,50,000 pieces of masks to the UpazilaNirbahi Officer (UNO) and a local union chairman in Gopalganj for distribution among the students of different schools in the locality to contain the spread of Covid-19.
