Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former MP, veteran Language Movement activist and valiant Freedom Fighter Abul Hashem.
Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League President, prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for his bereaved family members.
Abul Hashem, who was elected a member in the 1970 National Assembly elections from the then East Pakistan, breathed his last at 7:30am today (Wednesday) at a city hospital at the age of 93.
He left behind wife and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, AL General Secretary and Highways and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Abul Hashem.
