Pubali Bank observes International Women’s Day 2022

Pubali Bank Limited has observed the International Women’s Day 2022 with due dignity along with the rest of the world with the aim of establishing equal participation and equal rights of women in all spheres of development including economic, social and political development.

On this occasion, women colleagues were honored by cutting cakes at all the branches of Pubali Bank across the country. Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank was present as the Chief Guest at the function held at the Head Office.

Mohammad Ali, Additional Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Bank was present as Special Guest. Deputy Managing Director and Company Secretary of the Bank Zahid Ahsan, Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Shahadat Hossain and all the Executives and Division Heads of the head office and women employees of the head office were present on the occasion.

Pubali Bank Limited currently has 1333 women employees out of 8022 employees, which is 17 percent of the total employees. There are 36 women in the top leadership of the bank as Executives, out of which 6 are General Managers, 3 are Division Heads and one is Regional Manager. There are 29 women working as Branch Managers. On the occasion, the Managing Director conferred special honors to 6 women workers who travel to work in self-driven vehicles.

Managing Director and CEO Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury paid homage to Begum Rokeya, Janani Sahasika Begum Sufia Kamal, Mother Teresa and all the women who took part in the development of the society and family. He called upon female colleagues to inspire and enliven themselves by studying the life and work of the great women of the world. Recalling the contribution of women in the advancement of Pubali Bank, he hoped that the participation of women would increase in the days to come and they will be revealed in their own glory.

Additional Managing Director Mohammad Ali said the place of equal rights and mutual respect should be taught in the family as a child grows up. He emphasized the need for women workers to be aware of their rights and economic independence in order to break down the barriers of social inequality.

Ismat Ara Huq, General Manager, Human Resources Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
