Recent events have resulted in the temporary removal of Rajib Hossain, Coordinator of the Hazaribagh Thana chapter under the Student Rights Council’s Dhaka Metropolitan South branch, due to accusations made against him.
The Dhaka Metropolitan South unit’s office secretary, Nafiz Molla, signed a press statement announcing the decision on Sunday, December 22.
A three-person investigative committee was established to look into the claims, according to the statement. Senior Joint Coordinator Md. Ashik has been designated as the Acting Coordinator to supervise the unit’s operations while Rajib Hossain is suspended pending the investigation.
Mujahid Mizan, the general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South, is in charge of the investigative committee. Akhtaruzzaman Dipu is the vice president, while Miraz Hossain Raj is the joint general secretary.
Within 72 hours, the committee is expected to deliver a thorough report. In the meantime, Rajib Hossain has been given 48 hours to provide evidence of his innocence.
