A student of Rajshahi University (RU) found dead at a residential hall in the campus on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Fuad Al Khatib, son of Aminul Islam, who hailed from Sundarganj upazila in Gaibanha district. He was a student of Social Work Department under 2017-18 session of the university.
Quoting the deceased’s classmates, Professor Ekramul Islam, provost of the hall, said Fuad returned to the hall on Saturday night from his house and didn’t came out of his room till the afternoon.
Later at around 3pm on Sunday, other students found him in critical condition on his bed and informed university authorities, he said.
Being informed, university authorities rescued him and took to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
“Fuad had several red marks on his body and he was bleeding from his mouth while he was being rescued. The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy and legal action would be taken further,” the provost added.
