A court Sunday showed ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s private industry affairs adviser Salman F Rahman and former law minister Anisul Huq arrested in a case lodged over the murder of trader Abdul Wadud in THE capital’s New Market area during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order as police produced Salman and Anisul before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the case.
The same court also showed former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Nur arrested in a case lodged over the murder of one Mamun in the capital’s Mirpur area.
Anisul and Salman, two stalwarts of the former autocratic government of Sheikh Hasina, were arrested from the Sadarghat area as they were trying to flee the capital through the waterways on August 13. They were placed on 10-day remand the next day in a case lodged over the murder of Shahjahan Ali in New Market area.
Nur was arrested from the capital’s Bailey Road area on September 15 and was sent to jail the next day, showing him arrested in a case lodged with Mirpur Model Police Station.
