A Dhaka court on Thursday placed Salman F Rahman, former private industry affairs adviser to Sheikh Hasina, and former law minister Anisul Huq on a five-day fresh remand in a case filed for killing a young man in the capital’s Badda area during the quota reform movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed the other when police produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
During the remand, the former law minister pleaded not guilty. He also said he and Salman both were in support of the quota reform movement.
“I am innocent and I am unaware about the incident,” said Anisul during the hearing on remand plea.

He also demanded justice from the court.
Both of them were taken on remand for the fourth time.
Sumon Shikdar, a young man, was shot to death during the quota reform protest at Badda Fuji Tower on July 19.
Masuma, mother of Sumon, filed a case against 179 people including Sheikh Hasina.
Salman and Anisul were taken into custody by the Detective Branch of police on August 13. Before that, they were arrested in a murder case filed at New Market police station.
