Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque Friday said schools and colleges will be closed again if coronavirus infection rate increases.
“Infection rate among young people is low. Classes will be conducted in schools and colleges in compliance with health guidelines. If the coronavirus infection increases, we will close schools and colleges again,” said the minister.
Zahid Maleque was talking to journalists after he visited the admission test centre of Bangladesh Dental Surgeon (BDS) at Titumir College in Mohakhali this morning.
The health minister said the opening and closure of everything depends on the rate of coronavirus infection. Schools and colleges are being reopened now as the infection rate has come down.
About the Covid-19 vaccination, the minister said some 50 lakh doses of coronavirus vaccines will come every week till next November.
On September 3, Education minister Dipu Moni said that schools and colleges will reopen on September 12.
