Shelter project in Bajitpur Handover 20 houses

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gifted 20 families with semi-furnished houses along with ownership of two centuries of land in the fifth phase of Bajitpur under the ‘Mujib centenary will have no homeless’ shelter-2 project.

On Tuesday (June 11) inaugurated the program of handing over land deeds and house keys to the landless and homeless people in 459 upazilas across the country through a video conference from Ganabhaban.

On this occasion, upazila executive officer Md. Bajitpur Upazila Parishad meeting room of Kishoreganj. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Farida Yasmin of Kishoreganj spoke as the chief guest at the event organized under the chairmanship of Shamim Hussain.

Bajitpur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Moumita Guha Eva, Upazila Engineer Bani Amin were present at this time. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Rezaul Haque, Upazila Agriculture Officer Ashraful Alam, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin Munshi and journalists working in Bajitpur.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Rezaul Haque said, “Sheikh Hasina’s gift of right to shelter, ‘There will be no homeless during Mujib’s term ‘ , Bajitpur is going to become a land and homeless free upazila through the transfer of 20 single houses under the Asryan-2 project in the fifth phase. Earlier, a total of 209 landless homeless people of 11 unions of the upazila have been given houses.

He also said that each beneficiary family has been registered with two percent of the land. Along with that, all the processes of disclaiming the name and paying the rent have been completed. Apart from this, the construction of a two-roomed semi-paka house with a kitchen and a latrine has also been completed on that land.
