NSU organizes 2-day long Virtual Faculty Orientation

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) North South University (NSU) organized a two day–long virtual Faculty Orientation and Development Workshop for summer 2021 on 9th and 10th June, 2021.

A press release on Sunday said, due to the current pandemic situation, the orientation program was conducted online via google meet platform. The orientation program was attended by new faculty members from nine departments.

The Orientation workshop began with a welcome address by IQAC Director, Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar. The respective Deans from School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Health and Life Sciences were present on the second day of the workshop, talked about their respective schools and discussed the importance of faculty training program.

Prof. Dr. M. Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor of NSU, also took part in the deliberations and discussed the concepts of ethics in teaching.

The release mentioned that during these two days, there were different sessions focusing on administrative rules and regulations at NSU, teaching and research philosophy, effective teaching and assessment methodology, Outcome Based Education (OBE) and curriculum development, tools and techniques of preparing course outline, Blooms Taxonomy, faculty code of conduct and ways of dealing with students. There was a special segment on the usage of library resources and medical and psychological services available at NSU. The program ended with Vote of Thanks from the director and coordinators of IQAC.
