Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) senior secretary Lokman Hossain Mia Thursday urged the businessmen for taking smart investment service for building smart Bangladesh by 2041.
“The BIDA are now providing 113 services for the investors through online by one stop services (OSS) to ensure hassle free investment to achieve the 4th industrial revolution to make Bangladesh a develop country,” he made the remarks in an inception workshop style ‘Investment Development and BIDA-OSS Activities,’ at the conference room of the deputy commissioner office here as chief guest.
“We have to provide modern, integrated OSS so that the investors can easily get all investment-related services through easy access,” Lokman Mia said.
Turning BIDA is working to reach ICT based digitalise services of investment smartly, he pointed out, smart investment management system is one of the ingredients for building a smart Bangladesh.
He, however, said OSS is now providing a total of 113 services including BIDA’s and 38 other agencies. The services will upgrade to 150 services including 48 other agencies very soon.
South-Western region including Khulna is one of the important hubs for investment, the chief guest said massive investment possibility is prevailing here after opening the Padma Bridge side by side modern Mongla and Payra Sea Ports and newly built power plants etc.
BIDA organised the workshop in cooperation with Khulna divisional Commissioner’s office, with additional divisional commissioner Dr Faruk Ahmed in the chair.
Executive member of BIDA additional secretary Dr Khondokar Azizul Islam, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner(KMP) Mozammel Haque, Khulna range Deputy Inspector General(DIG) of Police Moinul Haque, Superintendent of Khulna Police Sayedur Rahman and head of the department of Bangladesh women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khulna Shamima Sultana Shilu, addressed as special guests.
Director of BIDA in Khulna division Pronob Kumar Roy delivered the welcome speech while Director General Jeevan Krishna Saha Roy presented an audio-visual presentation.
Government officials, representatives of various departments and directorates, officials of the chambers of commerce and industries and journalists were present at the event.
