A student of University of Asia Pacific died after falling from the university building on Dhaka’s Green Road this morning.
Deceased Imam Hossain (23) was a third-year student of Computer Science and Engineering.
University authorities and police suspect it was a case of suicide as the student was seen, in CCTV footage, jumping off the sixth floor of the nine-storey building.
The incident occurred around 8:00am.
Fayseluzzaman, admin officer of the university, said he heard a loud noise when he was entering the premises and came to know that a student fell from the building.
After treatment at a local hospital, Imam Hossain was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead around 9:45am, he said.
Hailing from Bhola, Imam used to stay in a mess with other students. He was supposed to sit for an exam this morning, his classmates said.
In his last Facebook story, Imam shared photos of three individuals, including a woman, and wrote “they are responsible” for his current condition.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy. The matter was informed to local police, Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost
