Students of Berobi want appointment of vice-chancellor within five working days

The student representatives of Begum Rokeya University demanded to ensure fair environment of education along with the appointment of vice-chancellor in a quick time. They made this demand at a press conference in front of Abu Saeed gate of the university on Friday (September 6) at 3:30 pm.

At that time, Farid, a student of the Department of Physical Science, said that the university is now in a deadlock. This situation should be resolved and academic activities should be started as soon as possible. At the same time, the treatment of students injured during the anti-discrimination student movement, including the trial of Abu Saeed’s murder, must be ensured.

He also said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the concerned authorities are demanding on behalf of the general students of Berobi that within the next five working days, a person who is qualified, has backbone and is associated with the world class lesson plan should be appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Berobi.

Incidentally, after the fall of the Hasina government on August 5, around 40 people holding important positions including vice-chancellor, treasurer, proctor, provost of Begum Rokeya University resigned one by one. Currently, the university is without a guardian. Meanwhile, there is deadlock in the campus as the class-examinations are stopped.
