Two including a teacher and aschoolgirl were killed and five others injured when a pick-up van rammed intoa school in Shivalaya upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased were identified as Fatema Akter, a teacher of the AbdulAlim Memorial School School and wife of Awlad Hossain of village Bhakla and schoolgirl Jarin Tasnim, daughter of Shahidul Islam of village Tepra of the upazila.
Police said the accident occurred at about 10am on the premises of Abdul Alim Memorial School when the pick-up engaged in development works of the school ran over them. Schoolgirl Jarin died on the spot.
The injured were sent to the local health complex where teacher Fatema Akter succumbed to her injuries.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shivalaya Police Station Mohammad Shahin confirmed the matter.
