Ujjwala, a leading social enterprise of Bangladesh, recognized more than 100 women entrepreneurs from the Beauty & Grooming Industry for their outstanding work & contribution to the society on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The awardees, all Ujjwala alumni’s and coming from diverse economic background and districts of the country, have excelled in their profession and have been significantly complimenting to the economic wellbeing of the society. The event coined ‘RupangoneUjjwala’RShikriti ‘, was organized on Sunday, March 20, at Hotel Intercontinental in Shahbag, Dhaka.
Three different category of awards, ‘SheraUjjwala’, ‘ShreshthoUjjwala’ and ‘AdamyaUjjwala’ were conferred to the recipients depending on their achievements and impact to the industry.
The event was attended by Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Minister for Industry, as the Chief Guest. Meher Afroz Chumki, MP, former state minister, women and child affairs, was present as the Special Guest. The Guest of Honor for the evening was Afsana Mimi, a cultural personality.
On the occasion, Ujjwala embarked on its next phase of journey by launching an exclusive range of “fair priced” personal care products viz. shampoos, hair oils and body oils under the brand name “Ujjwala Care”. The products, using pure natural in gredients which have been sourced locally, promises to comprehensively deliver on the consumer needs since it is designed by beauty experts keeping in mind the environmental nuances of Bangladesh.
