The United Nations Global Compact Network Bangladesh celebrated its 3rd iteration of Integrity Day under the theme “Sustaining Integrity for a Resilient Future” in its effort to drive meaningful dialogue, foster innovative solutions, and strengthen collaborative efforts to uphold integrity and advance collective action initiatives against corruption. The event took place at Hotel Lakeshore, Dhaka.
The event highlighted the importance of integrity and good governance in fostering resilient organizations and societies and provided actionable insights into advancing organizational best practices for integrity and ethical behavior in the Private Sector.
In the inaugural session, Integrity Day 2025 featured Mr. Farooq Sobhan, Network Representative of the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh, Mr. Sabbir Nasir, Managing Director of ACI Logistics (Shwapno), Mr. S.M. Naheeaan, National Programme Coordinator of the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC) and Mr. A.G.M Sattique Ahmed Shah, Acting Managing Director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Two insightful Panel Discussions took place during Integrity Day 2025. A discussion on “Integrity at Every Level: Empowering Employees to be Ethical Leaders” featured Mr. Zulfikar Hyder, Co-founder & Partners of ZUNOKS Consulting, Mr. ABM Faqrul Alam, Group Head of Sustainability, Urmi Group and Mr. Mashook M. Chowdhury, Senior Manager of Sustainability at DBL Group, who discussed how organizations can build a culture where every employee takes ownership of ethical behavior and integrity. A second panel discussion on “The Future of Corporate Integrity: Adapting Governance in a Changing World” featured Ms. Afreen Huda, Chief HR Officer of IDLC Finance, Mr. Ali Asraf Khan, Sustainability and Value Chain Advisor of the Royal Danish Embassy Bangladesh, and Barrister Tasnuva Shelley, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh. The discussion focused on how organizations can future-proof governance structures to uphold integrity amid emerging global challenges.
Closing remarks by Ms. Shahamin S. Zaman, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh highlighted the need for urgent collective action to promote transparency, accountability, integrity, and good governance for a sustainable future.
The UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh, through its initiative called Anti-Corruption Collective Action (ACCA), works together with the Private Sector, Civil Society, and the Government to align strategies and approaches towards a more resilient future.
