University of Miyazaki Delegates Congratulate NSU Vice-Chancellor

The Career and Placement Center (CPC) of North South University (NSU) invited Mr Shinnusuke Tasaka and Professor Yasunori Yano from the University of Miyazaki, Japan, for a cordial meeting with Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury on 30th September 2024. During this meeting, they congratulated him on his recent appointment. They discussed the remarkable progress and plans of the B-JET and B-MEET programs, creating exciting career opportunities for Bangladeshi students in the Japanese job market.

The Career and Placement Center coordinates the B-JET Center, which operates the B-JET (Bangladesh-Japan ICT Engineers’ Training Program) and B-MEET (Bangladesh-Miyazaki ICT Engineers’ Educational Training Project) with the University of Miyazaki. B-JET is a collaborative initiative involving NSU, JICA, the University of Miyazaki, and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), serving as a crucial link between Japan and Bangladesh while offering valuable career prospects in Japanese industries. This dynamic program empowers Bangladeshi engineering students to pursue successful careers in Japan’s vibrant IT sector.

As part of the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) Technical Cooperation, the B-JET program transitioned to NSU in 2020 through a collaborative MoU with the BCC and has successfully trained ICT engineers. The director of CPC, Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the B-MEET program, emphasising how it has significantly elevated its prestige and international resonance. He articulated the program’s vital role in fostering solid educational and professional ties between Japan and Bangladesh.

The B-JET program has completed 14 graduating batches, with over 300 alumni thriving in jobs with Japanese companies. Building on this success, the B-MEET program has launched to further equip students with essential skills in the Japanese language, business culture, and professional etiquette, ensuring they are ready for the vibrant job market in Japan.
