“The scene I saw in the hospital is unbearable,” he said while visiting the injured leaders and activists at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the capital on Thursday .
The BNP secretary general said, “Dr Yunus has been nominated by the students and us. I believe that under his leadership, the ongoing violence and crisis will come to an end.”
Mirza Fakhrul also demanded an election as soon as possible.
The BNP earlier proposed a list of names for the interim government. The list was submitted to the cabinet secretary on Thursday.
According to party sources, representatives of the political parties and civil society who boycotted the 12th national election have been included in the list.
The chief adviser and other advisers of the interim government are expected to take the oath at 8.30pm tonight.
