Wali is one of the highest paid Journalist in Bangladesh

Newspaper media has gained recognition as an industry in Bangladesh in the last few years. The reality of low-paid jobs among journalists is no more. There are even many well-paid journalists based on professionalism, experience and qualifications. Among them, Mohammad Moksedur Rahman Wali is one the highest paid journalist of Bangladesh.

Regarding the salaries of journalists, former finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said, ‘when the eighth Waze board for journalists was announced in 2013, there was no new pay scale for government officials. Then the starting salary of a journalist was higher than that of BCS officers entering government service. In the new pay scale, the government salary has increased by 100%. So now maybe the salaries of government officials are higher’.

The reality is that many prominent journalists in Bangladesh currently earn the same salary as government officials. Like, Mohammad Moksedur Rahman Wali, he is one of them.

Wali is well-known as Chayon Rahman on television. He is a distinguished investigative journalist with 18 years of experience in television journalism, has four national and international awards in his long professional life.

Regarding this matter Wali said in an interview that, highest salary and honor, but it is a career built through 18 years of honesty, dedication, hard work – Reporter, Senior Reporter, Special Reporter, Chief Reporter, In-charge, Assignment Editor, Chief News Editor and now Head of News duty – Presenting more than five hundred episodes of at least ten shows – Besides all the investigative reporting, two of the shows I presented became hugely popular. All this has helped in getting the highest salary along with holding various top posts.

In professional life Mohammad Moksedur Rahman Wali received various prestigious awards for his outstanding contributions in various fields in his professional life. Wali got the UNICEF Meena Awards in the Television Category, UNESCO Bangladesh Journalism Award for Investigative Journalism in the Television Category, Disaster Management Media Award from the Food and Disaster Ministry of Bangladesh, and the Disaster Management Bureau of Bangladesh Award in the Television Category.
