The body of an elderly woman was recovered from a pond at Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Tuesday morning.
The dead was Hajra Bewa, 60, a resident of Bejgram village under Tangbhanga union of the upazila.
According to locals, the woman left her home on Monday night and was missing till then. Later, local people spotted the her body on the water of a pond and recovered it.
Hatobandha Police Station officer-in-charge Saiful Islam said police were sent to the spot.
