BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said BNP will resist all acts of violence and injustice as the party’s stance is not to tolerate any chaos.
“We’ve clearly said that those who breach the law and order in all sectors would have to be resisted and the troublemakers will have to be handed over to the law enforcement agencies. We won’t tolerate any indiscipline in this regard,” he said.
The press meet was held at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office after a joint meeting of the party and its associate bodies.
Claiming that the BNP has made the highest sacrifice for democracy, Fakhrul said fascist Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee in face of the student-led mass uprising. “For this, I would like to thank the students and the leaders of various political parties.”
He urged their party leaders and workers to get ready for a big struggle in the coming days to cement the victory of the mass revolution.
“If we can’t consolidate this victory, neo-fascism will emerge again…we have to keep it in mind,” said the BNP leader.
He said it is now the responsibility of the people to sustain the victory. “Our political leaders will have to resist if anyone wants to indulge in terrorism, extortion or something else to harm it (victory),” said the BNP secretary general.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and its joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anne, among others, were present at the press conference.
