Writ seeks ban on Awami League

A writ has been filed in the High Court seeking the ban and cancellation of the registration of the Bangladesh Awami League for killing students.

The writ was filed on Monday by Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan, executive director, Sarda Society.

The writ also requests the renaming of institutions named after Sheikh Hasina.

Additionally, the writ seeks a minimum of three years for the current interim government to reform the country, repatriate Tk11 lakh crore smuggled abroad, and transfer officers who were appointed on a contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.

Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan said: “Rules and orders have been requested on these matters in the writ.”

The High Court bench led by Justice KM Asaduzzaman will hear the petition.
