7,50,000 law enforcers to be on polls duty

Some 7,47,322 law enforcers will be on duty to maintain law and order during the 12th parliamentary election on January 7.

Election Commission Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath informed this at a press briefing after a meeting with law enforcing agencies on Monday.

Some 5,16,000 Ansar members, 1,82,091 police and RAB members, 2,355 Coast Guard members and 46,876 BGB members will be on duty, he said.

Police and RAB members will get from Tk 536 to Tk 1200 as allowance, BGB members from Tk 400 to Tk 1225, Coast Guard members from Tk 637 to Tk 1800 and Ansar members from Tk 1000 to 1050.
