BNP will join polls eventually, hopes Razzaque

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque Saturday expressed his firm believe that at one stage BNP leaders will come in the polls for the sake of their existence in the politics as their good sense will arise.

“The next election will be held as per the country’s constitution. We will try to bring the BNP in the polls. If BNP does not come to the polls, it will be extinct,” he said.

Razzaque said while speaking as the chief guest at the freshers’ reception programme at Kumudini Government College here, said a press release.

Tangail district AL General Secretary Md Joaherul Islam, MP, Md Sanowar Hossain, MP, Kh. Momota Hena Lovely, MP, and Vice Principal of the college Professor Abdul Karim Miah spoke at the function with Kumudini Government College Principal Professor Badrul Alam in the chair.

Referring to BNP’s stance in the last three parliamentary elections, he said, “In the last three elections, BNP suffered an extreme disaster. Observing their current activities, it’s seemed to me that BNP is going to face the disaster for the fourth consecutive time in the next election”.

The minister added: “But I firmly believe that the good sense of BNP will emerge and for the sake of BNP’s existence, its leaders will be forced to come to the polls at one stage”.

Noting that the people of the country are satisfied over the unprecedented development taken place under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said the people will bring Sheikh Hasina to the state power again.

Speaking about the skyrocketing price of poultry chicken, Razzaque said poultry farmers, businessmen and entrepreneurs have been incurring losses for a long time since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic.

Suddenly, the price of poultry chicken has been very high for the last two months, he said, adding that it is also said that the grassroots farmers are not getting the fair price.

“I will raise the matter in the high level policy-making forum of the government. We have to formulate a policy through which the price of poultry can be kept in a tolerable level so that the lower income people could afford it and simultaneously traders, farmers and entrepreneurs can be benefited,” Razzaque said.
