Independent candidates won’t be expelled from AL: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday said they would not expel the party members who submitted their nomination papers for contesting the 12th parliamentary election as independent aspirants.

He came up with the announcement at a press conference held at the party president’s political office in Dhanmondi.

Quader said BNP is conspiring to come to power through the back door as the party is afraid of participating in the polls with its failure in waging political movement.

Many BNP men have come out of its negative politics and returned to healthy politics, he said. “We greet them from our party.”

The Awami League leader hoped that many more BNP leaders and activists would return to the proper and healthy track of politics in the future.

In another context, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the Election Commission is reshuffling the administration, not the government, and Awami League has no objection to this issue.
