Jamaat wants trial for forced disappearances, murders on priority basis’

Jamaat wants trial for forced disappearances and murders on priority basis, says Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.

He said, “We want justice for the disappearances and murders first so that no one can violate human rights in the future.”

Jammat Ameer said this at a meeting of Sunamganj District Jamaat activists on the premises of Government Jubilee High School in the district on Saturday.

“Those who hold leadership positions at the national level must have a specific commitment, mission and vision. The people of the country are now tired of seeing deceit and lies in politics. It is not possible to bring about a radical change in politics with deceitful people” said Dr Shafiqur Rahman.

Sunamganj District Jamaat Ameer Tofail Ahmed Khan presided over the programme moderated by the district Jamaat Secretary Prof Abdullah and former Chhatra Shibir leader Rezaul Karim Reza.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Assistant Secretary Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin, Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Fakhrul Islam and Sylhet District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman also spoke in the programme.
