Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan, Awami League’s nominated candidate for Magura-1 seat, submitted his nomination form on Thursday (30 november) afternoon. He submitted nomination papers to Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Mohammad Abu Naser Beg at the Deputy Commissioner’s office along with the current Member of Parliament of Magura-1 Saifuzzaman Shikhar and district Awami League leaders.
At the same time, the current member of parliament of Magura-2 seat Biren Shikder has submitted nomination papers. District Awami League President Abdul Fattah, General Secretary Pankaj Kumar Kundu, Vice President Munshi Rezaul Haque, Abu Nasir Bablu and others were present at this time.
As of writing this report, Jatiya Party nominee Sirajus Saifin Saif, Bangladesh Congress Chairman Advocate Kazi Rezaul Islam, Masood Parvez, Zaker Party nominee for Magura-1 constituency, Zaker Party nominee for Magura-2 constituency, Haider Ali have submitted their nomination papers. After submission of nomination, Awami League candidate of Magura-1 seat Shakib Al Hasan and Awami League nominated candidate of Magura-2 seat Dr. Biren Shikder expressed optimism about winning the elections.
Saifuzzaman Shikhar said, after submitting the nomination papers of Shakib for Magura-1 constituency, we have taken preparations to start the election process after the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nominated Shakib Al Hasan. We are hopeful that Shakib will win from Magura-1 seat and present this seat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
