The city of Dhaka witnessed a spectacle of epic proportions as the much-awaited Dhaka Summer Con concluded its very first event, leaving fans and enthusiasts in awe of its exceptional elements, a press release said on Wednesday. The convention, a celebration of all things pop culture, proved to be a resounding success, drawing pop culture enthusiasts and cosplayers from across the country.
On July 13, 14 and 15 of this month, the country’s biggest pop culture festival was held for three days with various entertainment facilities and activities at Hall 3 and 4 of Dhaka’s International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). This pop cultural festival titled ‘Dhaka Summer Con 2023’ has 30 bands from the country hitting the stage. Apart from the pop music, the event also attracted the attention of the cosplay competition. Where cosplayers dress up like their favorite characters from cartoons and series. Cosplayers transformed the convention floor into a living canvas, showcasing their talents with breathtakingly accurate costumes. Attendees marveled at the attention to detail and creativity on display, as iconic characters from comics, anime, TV shows, and movies came to life in vivid fashion.
Gaming enthusiasts found their paradise within Dhaka Summer Con’s gaming arena at Discovery 1 and Mobile Legends Bang Bang stall. Artist’s Alley was a bustling hub where Unmad, Cartoon People, Antik Mahmud, Manga Stage, etc talented illustrators and artists displayed and sold their unique creations. Fans had the chance to commission personalized artwork or purchase exclusive prints to adorn their walls with cherished memorabilia.
The exhibitor hall was a treasure trove of exclusive merchandise and collectibles from beloved franchises like Kiyan’s Kollectibles, Spotlight Attires, Aoi Sakura, Best in Brands. Fans indulged in a shopping spree, bringing home limited edition items, action figures, posters, and rare memorabilia to cherish.
