Bangladesh suffer Ebadot injury blow

Fast bowler Ebadot Hossain received a finger injury during a Super League phase match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Thursday .

The injury however ruled him out of the rest of the DPL.

The lanky fast bowler was playing a game for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

After receiving the injury, he was sent to Evercare Hospital. His injured finger however needed some stitches, confirmed BCB chief physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury.

“At this moment, we didn’t know how many stitches he will need. How long he will take to recover and get back to the field will rely on how many stitches he will need,” he said.

Ebadot is the vital cog of Bangladesh team also specially after his match winning bowling spell against New Zealand. His 6-46 gave Bangladesh the maiden victory on New Zealand soil.

Since Bangladesh’s two-match Test series against Sri Lanka is knocking at the door, his injury is a huge blow for the side, specially also for the reason that fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam won’t be available in the Sri Lanka Tests due to their respective injuries.

But BCB chief physician is expecting that Ebadot will recover ahead of the Sri Lanka Tests.

“We hope he will need just one week to recover from the injury. We don’t think there will be any problem for him to play the Sri Lanka series,” he added.
