Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty found a place in the Team of the Tournament of the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup as the only player from her country.
Players from seven teams have been included in the Team of the Tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed in a press release.
Champions New Zealand and runners-up South Africa are represented by three players apiece (including the 12th player) while stars from England, India, the West Indies, Bangladesh and Australia are also selected.
The release said: “Nigar Sultana Joty takes the gloves following an impressive competition. She led her side to their first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup victory for 10 years against Scotland and impressed with the bat against both West Indies (39) and South Africa (32 not out).”
Joty scored 104 runs in the tournament, averaging 34.66 and effected seven dismissals behind the wicket.
