The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, with Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi naming captain.
Hannan Sarkar, selector of the youth cricket team, revealed the names in the team in Mirpur on Monday.
No changes were made to the squad as all of the players who played in the recently concluded Under-19 Asia Cup were included in the team. However, five cricketers were kept on stand-by list.
The World Cup will kick off on January 19 in South Africa. Despite Sri Lanka being supposed to be the host for the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned the Sri Lankan Cricket Board in November last year for an indefinite time.
Bangladesh will participate in the tournament from Group A where India, the USA, and Ireland will compete with the young Tigers.
They will begin their World Cup campaign with the match against India on January 20.
