BGMEA president stresses on sports as a catalyst for social development

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Faruque Hassan emphasized the transformative power of sports in building a better society. He made the observation during his address as the chief guest at the ORWA Football Fest prize-giving ceremony held in Dhaka on November 10, a press release said on Sunday.

Highlighting the true essence of sports, Faruque Hassan underscored its role in bringing people together, fostering camaraderie, and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

He urged for concerted efforts to encourage and promote these values within society.

The ORWA Football Fest, organized by the Old Remians Welfare Association (ORWA), witnessed enthusiastic participation from the current and former students of DRMC (Dhaka Residential Model College), fondly known as “Remians.”

President emphasized the tournament’s significance, recognizing sports as a vital platform for learning essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence.

These qualities, he noted, extend far beyond the boundaries of the football pitch, shaping individuals for success in various aspects of life.
