‘Ispahani 4th Bangladesh Open Squash 2024′ opens

The opening ceremony of the ‘Ispahani 4th Bangladesh Open Squash 2024,’ was held at the Army Squash and Tennis Complex in the capital. The biggest squash tournament in the country, organized by the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, will feature a total of three tournaments. These include two international tournaments, along with the national tournament, featuring renowned male and female squash players from both home and abroad. This tournament has been organizing by courtesy of Ispahani since 2021.

The international tournament is being held from October 1 to 4 as Bangladesh will once again be on the list of countries hosting a PSA Tour event. The PSA, or Professional Squash Association, is the global governing body for professional squash. In the tournament Bangladesh’s top players will compete against players from India, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Additionally, in the women’s Satellite Tour, the top 6 female players from Bangladesh will compete against Sri Lankan professional player Kuruppu.

It is noteworthy that the national-level competition has already been organized in various groups, featuring 90 selected players from 19 clubs/institutions, including Rangpur, Chittagong, Gopalganj, Dhaka, and Jhenaidah Cadet Colleges. This tournament’s matches will be held at the Army Squash and Tennis Complex in the capital. The semifinals and final matches of this competition will also be televised. The semifinal of the PSA “Challenge Tour-3” will be aired live on ATN Bangla on October 3 at 5 PM, and the final match of the tournament will be aired live on ATN Bangla on October 4 at 4 PM.

Emaad Ispahani, Director of Ispahani Group, Omar Hannan, GM, Ispahani Group, Brigadier General G M Kamrul Islam (Retd.), Secretary General of the Federation, were present as special guests along with officials from the Federation and Ispahani Group, guests, journalists, and both local and international squash players.
