We’re just focusing on our performance: Oscar

Bashundhara Kings head coach Oscar Bruzon said that they were taking the match against Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd as a regular game, but also added that they were focusing on their performance as the win would confirm their fifth consecutive title.

“We take it (match) in the same way we take every game, providing relevant and precise info and showing videos to our players and adjusting the weekly practices on how to neutralize their (Mohammedan) offensive stages and finding ways to attack them,” Oscar told.

“All talks about our title hopes depend on our performance tomorrow (Saturday) so we are fully immersed and focus on it and just on it,” said the coach before the game on Friday.

BPLReigning champions Kings, who last year became the first club in the 76-year history of the country’s football to be crowned four titles in a row, are on the verge of clinching their fifth consecutive Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title.

“They (Mohammedan) are a fit team delivering under high intensity and top physicality game after game, not conceding many goals and running dangerous counters and being effective in set pieces,” Oscar replied while asking about his game plan against Mohammedan.

The traditional black and white also completed their preparation ahead of the crucial game.

Mohammedan got a confidence boost before this crucial game as they reached the ABG Bashundhara Federation Cup 2023-24 final after beating Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in the first semifinal at the Shaheed Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj last week.

“We have confidence. We have spirit, not thinking about the past. We have nothing to lose in tomorrow’s match. If we win, it will be our plus point. But we will definitely give our best. The team just finished the final preparation,” said Mohammedan coach Alfaz Ahmed.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will face Chittagong Abahoni Ltd in Munshiganj and Brothers Union Ltd will meet Fortis FC at the Muktijuddho Sriti Stadium in Rajshahi in the other two games.

All matches will kick off at 4 pm (BST).
