‘X-Ceramics Group’ has debuted in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as the title sponsor of Sylhet Strikers team, a press release said Thursday.
Regarding the development, there was a signing ceremony held at a city hotel recently.
Sylhet’s ownership company, ‘Future Sports’ chairman Sarwar Chowdhury and X Index Companies managing director Mahin Mazher inked the deal on behalf of respective sides.
X Ceramics will be the ‘title sponsor’ of the Sylhet Strikers team for the next three years, according to the agreement. It’s first time for any sponsor of BPL. Mahin Mazher is one of the directors of Sylhet Strikers.
Regarding sponsorship in cricket, X Index Companies managing director, Mahin Mazher said that, management and mental strength are essential for success in a sport like cricket.
“Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has the ability to bring any result. That is why we are in favor of Sylhet Strikers,” he said.
Chief of the franchisee, Sarwar Chowdhury alluded the role of Mahin Mazher as a fan of cricket saying that Sylhet Strikers attained response from ‘X-Ceramics’ on first appearance due to his love for the sport.
Sylhet Strikers managing director HelalIbn Yusuf and manager Nafis Iqbal were also present at the contract signing ceremony.
Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the BPL franchise in the last week of September last year.
