Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said Bangladesh had witnessed gross violation of human rights during the long military regimes after 1975 carnage. "We're even barred from seeking justice," she said while UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet paid a courtesy call on her at her official Ganabhaban residence here.

US imposes sanctions on RAB, 7 individuals
The United States has imposed human rights related sanctions on Benzir Ahmed, current Inspector General of the Bangladesh Police and former Director General of Bangladesh's Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and six other individuals on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.
