Ramsar status is no guarantee of protection for key Bangladesh wetlands

As Bangladesh authorities prepare to declare the country’s largest freshwater wetland a Ramsar site, its two other designated wetlands of international importance, including the Sundarbans, continue to come under increasing threat. Missing tourist’s body fished out of Karnaphuli river

Another tourist’s body was fished out of the Karnaphuli river off the coast of Rangamati’s Kaptai early on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Apurba Saha, 19, a resident of Chattogram city.
