Stocks on DSE up, down on CSE

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2024 (BSS) - The country's premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today witnessed positive trend while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) suffered loss. After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 18.17 points or 0.30 per cent to settle at 6,097.23.

Country has enough stocks of petroleum fuel

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has said that the country has adequate stocks of petroleum fuel. In a clarification on Wednesday, it said the country has stocks of 431,835 metric tons of diesel for 32 days' consumption while Jet-A1 fuel for 44 days' consumption and furnace oil for 32 days'

Price fall in large-cap drives stocks down

Stocks Sunday witnessed downward trend due mainly to price fall in large-cap securities. DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 20.19 points or 0.31 per cent to settle at 6,404.03. Two other indices also closed lower.
