Bangladeshi students off to ‘Seeds’ regional round in China

Ten winners of the Huawei Seeds for the Future 2024 Bangladesh have started their China trip to take part in regional round of the program. In a one-week program they will be attending Digital Talent summit, Furthermore, they will visit Nanning, Shenzhen, and Dongguan for receiving training on 5G, AI, IoT, and Smart City, and participate in cultural exchange programs.

This year’s Seeds for the Future winners are Mohammad Fasiul Abedin Khan, EEE department, BRAC University; Arpa Saha, CSE department, KUET; Sheikh Munkasir Ahmed Rafeed, EEE department BUET; Mashfiha Mahee, EEE department, AUST; Maria Nawar, CSE department, AIUB; Samiha Masud Business Technology Management (BTM), IUT; Tasfia Jannat Tasfi, CSE department, RUET; Avik Md Emtiaz Arefin, Mechatronics Engineering department, RUET; Kazi Zarin Rahman, Finance and Banking department, BUP; and Raiyan Ibne Hossain from EEE department, IUT.

Tanvir Ahmed, Head of Media, Huawei South Asia said, “Huawei is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders so that they can drive technological transformation and innovation in Bangladesh. For the last 11 years Huawei is providing such opportunities through our Seeds for the Future program for Bangladeshi students. And we can see, this program influences students to think out of the box and bring new innovations. I am sure that the 10 students taking part in the regional part, will acquire enough skills and knowledge to contribute Bangladesh further.”

A total of 1850+ students from Bangladesh applied for the program this year. Among the applications, a total of 50 students were selected for the first round based on evaluation and interviews. Since its inception in Bangladesh in 2014, the program has provided opportunities to the youth, offering exposure to state-of-the-art technologies and insights from industry experts. Globally, over 15,000 students have already benefited from this initiative.
