Once the Chittagong District Police Kabaddi Team advances, then the Range Police Team. In this way, the breathless battle of strength and strategy continued for hours. In the end, the members of the district police team smile to win with a margin of 26-22 points.
On Tuesday afternoon the finals of ‘Chittagong Range DIG Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournament’ was held at BKSP Chittagong Regional Training Centre. KSRM, one of the steel industry companies of the country, was next to this police arrangement.
At the end of the finals, a closing and prize distribution ceremony was organized. District Sports Association General Secretary and former Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nashir Uddin spoke as the chief guest at the event presided over by Chittagong Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nur Alam Mina. KSRM media and public relations advisor Mizanul Islam was the special guest.
Senior officers of Range Police and KSRM were present on the occasion.
In the speech of the chief guest, AJM Nashir Uddin said, ‘Bangladesh is the country of kabaddi. We achieved the independence of Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation. He was very devoted to sports. Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, despite being a politician, holds sports in her heart. Besides running the government, he is working so that we can bring success in the international arena. He is trying to ensure that the traditional games of rural Bengal like Kabaddi are not lost.’
In the speech of the special guest, KSRM’s Media and Public Relations Advisor Mizanul Islam said, ‘Though Kabaddi is our national sport, it is on the way to extinction day by day. At such a time, when the DIG took up the organization of the Kabaddi game and asked KSRM to participate in it, we immediately took it into the loop. We want this traditional game to regain its lost past.’
In the President’s speech, Chittagong Range DIG Nur Alam Meena said that it was our intention to patronize the national game of Kabaddi as it is behind this event.
Youngsters should stay away from vices and drugs.
At the end of the discussion, the guests handed over cups and medals to the two teams.
