Saudi Arabia’s moon-sighting committee Tuesday confirmed that the crescent moon marking the beginning of Shawwal had not been sighted.
Therefore, Wednesday will be the 30th and last day of Ramadan, and Thursday will be observed as the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
Eid Al Fitr means the ”festival of ending the fast” it is marked by a special prayer on the morning of the first day of Shawwal month.
Qatar has also announced Thursday will mark the first day of Eid.
