No revenge, work unitedly for Bangladesh:Jamaat Ameer

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday called for working unitedly for the national interest forgetting the past issues.

He said this in a view exchange meeting with senior journalists organised by the party’s Dhaka Metropolitan North unit at a hotel inTejgaon.

He said, “Journalists and politicians work simultaneously to change society and establish justice. Just as politicians die in the streets, so do journalists. So, we have no opportunity to look back. We have to work unitedly for the national interest.”

At this time, he urged the media workers to fulfill their professional responsibilities independently by being inspired by a sense of patriotism.

Jamaat chief said that violence and revenge are not expected. Rather, the pen of the media workers should be sharpened to introduce a new trend of people-oriented politics by introducing a positive trend in the existing politics with the mission of forgiveness and correction.

Central Executive Council Member and Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Muhammad Salim Uddin presided over the event. Jamaat Central Working Council Member and Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, central working council member and Nayeb Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Abdur Rahman Musa, Shura member of Central Majlis and Nayeb Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North Engineer Golam Mostafa, Shura member of Central Majlis and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mahfuzur Rahman, Fakhruddin Manik, and Publicity secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Ataur Rahman Sarker, among others, were present in the programme.
